About Us

Mission:

To bring together all Terry Fox stakeholders to create a unique school community, which will serve to enrich the atmosphere and environment in which all Terry Fox Elementary School children learn.

 

Key Activities: 

While being led by the Terry Fox Guiding Principles, the TFSC will fulfill its mission statement by performing 3 key activities:

 

1) Communication:
Serve as a conduit through which parents may contribute to the development and implementation of school policy.
Consult with parents about matters under consideration by the Council.
Consult with the Principal and School Board Trustee.

2) Collaboration:
Promote the school to the broader community.
Form partnerships with other area schools.
Understand staff concerns and provide support where possible.
Seek out issues of concern to the students.
Work with the local community to assist in the development of responsible citizens.

3) Fundraising:
Raise funds to support school-wide enhancements of program, culture and character.
Establish annual fundraising objectives and distribution plan.
Maintain a permanent fundraising committee to set priorities and manage the work required to achieve them.
